Ft. Bend ISD, like most Texas school districts, has experienced the corrosive destruction of scale on water heaters, pipe and other equipment that comes in contact with untreated water, and knows the value of Systems to eliminate and control it...
For years the district used standard, 80 year old technology, salt based water softeners to remove the scale. The continued hike in equipment costs, ever increasing maintenance and salt storage costs, and the sheer volume of wasted water required for these salt systems became prohibitively expensive.
On Quail Valley Elementary #39, the water softeners normally specified were removed due to increasing material cost and budget constraints.
Then the district found a way to meet cost objectives and control maintenance costs with Watts OneFlow, an environmentally friendly (Green and Leed qualified) scale solution by Watts.
Steve Callahan, Watts One Flow Marketing Manager, Chris Young, Hugh M. Cunningham, Inc. Houston Account Manager, and Dan Ursery, Hugh M. Cunningham, Specifications Sales Manager presented the Watts OneFlow system to Ft. Bend ISD.
After careful review and planning, Ft. Bend ISD made the decision to install and test the Watts OneFlow and to conduct this trial on Quail Valley Elementary school #39.
Factory Service Group, Inc. professionally installed the 3 tank system with a peak demand of 225gpm in a space 1/3rd the size typically required for a traditional salt based water softener. Danny Winters, Facilities Construction Project Manager, Ft. Bend ISD stated “these guys did a fantastic job; I can tell they take great pride in their work and every Watts OneFlow job should use this design and service as a template for all installations.” Rick Woolever and John Bevil with Factory Service Group Houston Branch made sure this system was installed per the manufacturer’s instructions. They were amazed at the simplicity of installing such a system in a school already completed. Rick states, “This (Watts OneFlow) install was so uncomplicated and much easier than Salt-based System.” John went on further, “Rick and I have been involved with dozens of salt-based systems, we have 35 years of experience between us, and we can tell you, the salt-based systems would not have retro-fit in this school.”
The district is monitoring the system and documenting its effectiveness. Within 6 months, if the system performs to expectations Ft. Bend ISD will proprietarily specify the Watts OneFlow for all new construction; and schedule a rolling program to replace all Salt-based systems in existing facilities in the district.
Watts OneFlow is a revolutionary proven Scale Reduction System.
Watts OneFlow Anti-Scale System performs with field proven superior equipment, with the added benefits:

Watts OneFlow will enable the Ft Bend ISD to have a system that will provide a scale solution for all facilities, protecting the water heaters, kitchen equipment, plumbing fixtures and piping.
Stephen Callahan, Watts OneFlow National Marketing Manager states “The OneFlow design is patented proven technology that has hundreds of installations in North America for over 7 years. Watts’ strategic alignment, with the manufacturer of this scale solution, is an ideal partnership that allows access to this technology across all of North America. These systems are time tested proven success. We look forward to being the specified installed Anti-Scale solution provider to Ft Bend ISD for decades to come.”
Watts OneFlow, fundamentally protecting the entire Plumbing Mechanical system of your facility.
Scale has and will always be an issue in every construction project, most especially in hard water states like Texas. Green and Leed Certified driven facility owners know that to protect their plumbing and mechanical systems they must find alternatives to environmentally unsafe salt systems that damage our eco system, and find the systems at appropriate cost, with less space requirements and significantly less ongoing maintenance. Watts OneFlow fits the bill.
Watts OneFlow provides a Scale Removal System that is cost effective, maintenance free and a Green and Leed Certified alternative. Visit http://www.thescalesolution.com/scale_problem.asp to read more about the

Watts Regulator Company was founded in 1874 by Joseph E. Watts. During its early days, Watts manufactured steam and water pressure reducing valves to ensure the safe operation of machinery in the local textile mills.
In the mid 1900’s, Watts introduced the revolutionary combination temperature and pressure (T&P) relief valve, a safety device for use on hot water supply tank systems. These T&P valves prevented dangerous water heater explosions and continue to be an integral part of today’s water heating systems.
In the 1970’s, Watts was instrumental in the education and development of backflow prevention codes and standards to prevent the reverse flow of contaminated water from entering into the potable water supply. Watts continues to be a leader in the backflow prevention market today.
Today, Watts Regulator is part of the Watts Water Technologies family with operations in North America, Europe and Asia. Watts designs, manufactures and sells an extensive line of flow control products for the water quality, residential plumbing & heating, commercial and OEM markets. Source: www.watts.com
